◆4th Japan Fair Held by the Embassy of Japan

   The Embassy of Japan in Palau successfully held the 4th Japan Fair on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at the Ngarachamayong Cultural Center from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The Embassy of Japan would like to express our appreciation to the over 600 people who came to the event, including guest speaker Honorable Baklai Temengil Chilton, Minister of Community and Cultural Affairs.

   The Japan Fair featured judo performance by Palau Judo Federation, song performances by the Japanese Language School students, Palau’s Senior Citizens and Mr. Haily Eriich, the Tankobushi or the coal miner’s dance by Japan Mine Action Service (JMAS) members, food lecture by the cook of Yume restaurant, Mr. Hidetoshi Ito, and presentations by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) volunteers, Mr. Hiroto Yamazaki and Ms. Yuka Yamagami.

    The Embassy of Japan hopes the attendants of the 4th Japan Fair enjoyed the event and learned some of the unique Japanese culture. Additionally, the Embassy of Japan would like to thank everyone who made the event possible, most especially to the Ministry of Education, Mr. Philip Haruo, SDA Church, Palau Senior Citizens Center, Palau Judo Federation, Yume Restaurant, Alumni of the Japanese Government Scholarship, JICA, JMAS, Japanese Language School, Mr. Hailey Eriich, Ariel, Bilung Gloria Salii and all the other various individuals and organization that enabled a successful Japan Fair 2014.
